Stoneworks owner, Regan Drasko, says he can make countertops and tiles out of just about any precious stone through laminating processes he invented. Primarily he works with slabs of granite, marble, limestone, travertine, slate, and onyx, as well as sythetics like sile stone and ceasar stone. And now, Stoneworks is proud to announce they are the first to perfect glass slab fabrication. He boasts an amazing 11 different finishes including: polished, honed, satin, chisel edge, and chisel edge waxed finish ( a toned down version of chisel edge), etc.

Visiting the Stoneworks factory at 1177 Greenfield is rather like visiting the professors workshop. Regan, who obviously loves beautiful stone and gems, sketches and calculates each project from his command module. The waterjet has a capacity of 15 feet by nearly 7 feet, and upto 8 inches thick. It can cut vinyl linoleum or tungsten steel up to 6 inches thick. Can you imagine? The waterjet slices at 30/1000 of an inch. That is so small he can cut a puzzle in granite and it fits tight. Once cut the next station is grinding and polishing at 2000 psi, controlled hydraulically, and polishing back and forth at 80 mph. This is followed by numerous hand stations for polishing touch-ups. Undermount sink cutouts and serpentine type shapes made by the waterjet are done with computer precision.

Besides countertop and vanity fabrication Stoneworks offers Jacuzzi tub tops, Ogees, blocks, puzzles, medallions with no limit in size, sinks, tables, and stands, back lighted wall displays in translucent stone, full fireplaces and mantles, window sills, full tub and shower enclosures, even full hotel lobbies in slab. This is the Holiday Inn Express travertine Lobby before grinding honing and polishing. It had massive toe-kicker lippage This is the Lobby of the Holiday Inn Express in San Diego's Mission Valley. This is after full resurfacing and restoration. Which included grinding the lippage, sanding and re-honing with diamond grits 50 through 800, or so, and then polishing with diamond powder, marble polish and sealer. We crystalized the floor for hardness, slip resistance and durability
